About the artist
Geoffrey Ridge is a native of Colorado, born and raised in Loveland. He graduated from Loveland High School in 1979. Geoffrey continued his education at Colorado State University, taking a B.F.A. with a concentration in printmaking in 1985. There followed another three years of graduate study of printmaking, also at CSU.
In 1988, an opportunity presented itself to go to Japan and teach English. For the next four years, Geoffrey resided in Japan, picking up the language while there, as well as some formal instruction in calligraphy. After brief residences in Olympia, WA, and Boulder, CO, Geoffrey has been making his home in Denver, CO. The greater volume of the work has been produced in Denver, both working from home and printing at Open Press Ltd. (also in Denver).
